    Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure
    More than 30 Greater Houston Transportation Company employees and their families walked in the 2004 Fun Run/Walk. The 5K benefits the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.


    EMPOWER EXPO / PRIDE PARADE
    Greater Houston Transportation Company, a new member of the Greater Houston Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, provided free shuttle service and back-up taxi service at the Greater Houston Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Empower Expo & Lift-Off Party held at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) in June 2004.

    As part of the Expo and Party, we provided a free 11-passenger van shuttle - on a first-come, first-served basis - to and from the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Meteor Bar, located at 2306 Genesee St.

    Pride Parade
    Houston's popular nighttime Pride Parade rolled through the heart of Montrose along Westheimer for its 26th year on Saturday, June 26 and Greater Houston Transportation Company was well represented by 30 volunteers and 6 vehicles in the parade. This year's parade was the biggest and best to date. The Pride Committee of Houston and other Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender community organizations sponsored the Parade.We also provided a free shuttle from the Meteor Bar to the parade route the evening of the parade. During the evening, we manned a cabstand at the Parade Festival at Westheimer & Yoakum where ammenities included bleachers, food & beverage booths, a dance tent and beer garden.

    Houston Comets
    Greater Houston Transportation Company purchased $5,000 worth of Comets tickets and donated them back to the Clutch City Foundation. We also provided transportation to and from the games to a dozen Special Olympic participants.
